Hitachi OMD’s Quality Assurance organization provides a quality umbrella for all functional groups within the contract manufacturing organization. The quality assurance department mission is:
- To assure all systems, products and processes meet or exceed the defined requirements and customer needs and provide leadership and guidance in continual improvement activities to assure present and future customer satisfaction
- To provide Cost of Quality Measurements
- To perform internal audits of products and processes to assure regulatory compliance and continual improvement
- To provide Six Sigma Methodologies utilized for improvements
- To provide warranty repair, non-warranty repair and service
Functions of the Quality Assurance organization include:
- Systems Quality- All ISO and certification and registration activities
- Six Sigma methodologies and implementation
- Supplier quality
- Process quality
- Field and field return quality based upon customer supplied data
- Customer service and repair
